Martifer Solar, subsidiary of Martifer SGPS, has recently closed a turnkey agreement to build a 6.6MWp photovoltaic installation in the region of Murcia, Spain.
Martifer Solar will be responsible, under a turnkey contract, for the supply and installation of all the PV equipment, including the Smartracker©, the innovative solar tracker fully developed by the company. Once completed, Martifer Solar will also undertake the plant’s Operation and Maintenance.

The photovoltaic project, operated by a third-party, is due to be delivered in two stages. The construction of the first one – 2.8MWp- will be completed by December 2011, in a record time of just 8 weeks, while the second one – 3.8 MWp- is scheduled for the last quarter of 2012.

The construction of the first stage of the project, due to start in November 2011 will involve a workforce of more than 80 people. Once completed, the photovoltaic installation will produce clean energy to supply more than 2,500 homes and will avoid the emission of near 4,000 CO₂ tons to the atmosphere.
