Martifer builds stadium for Euro 2012 in Poland

The Polish company Energomontaz Polundie adjudicated Martifer Polska, controlled by Martifer SGPS, the manufacturing and assembly of the metallic structure for the Baltic Arena, the stadium under construction in Gdansk, integrated in the Euro 2012, the soccer competition co-organised by Poland and Ukraine.

This contract, involving 6,440tons of metallic structures, should be concluded by the end of June, 2010 and will cost 44 million zlotys (10.4 million Euros).

Martifer Polska develop its activity in Poland in the metallic construction area, employing 250 collaborators.

Martifer polish’s subsidiary is also developing the construction work for the hockey ice rink in Gizcko, the Decathlon shopping location in Biesko Biala, a concrete factory in Podolsky, Ukraine and another one for Profix, in Warsaw.

Martifer Metallic Constructions’ order portfolio in Central Europe, where Martifer Polska is included, accounts for approximately 12% of a 307M€ total.

"This contract is extremely important for Martifer Polska, not only as it recognises the group’s background as an experienced player building stadiums, as it happened in Portugal for Euro 2004, but also because it allows to further declare Martifer Polska within a market where the company has several years of experience and reference works”, said Miguel Borges, Martifer Polska’s General Manager.

Martifer Polska manufactured and installed, in the recent past, the metallic structure for the Warsaw airport, as well as several industrial units, bridges and a sports pavilion in Poland.
