CNO MARTIFER

Based on the "New Opportunities” initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity, and presented in 2005, the CNO – Centre of New Opportunities of Martifer born as a response to the low education of its employees in its operational/industrial units.

Afterwards, its scope was enlarged and currently it responds mostly to the education necessities of adults in the local community (Dão – Lafões region), where most of the industrial capacity is installed and the headquarters of Martifer group. In 2011, only 20% of the CNO participants were Martifer’s employees.

Since 2008, CNO has certified more the 340 persons. Today, it has almost 300 adults under the certification process.

Today, Martifer is proud to have contributed to the improvement in the education of local the communities in its headquarters’ region.
